This course offers a new perspective on designing wireless networks. Students will learn how to design a wireless network from the beginning to end, from customer-first contact to post-deployment reports. The student will learn how to conduct walk-throughs, identify difficult areas and optimize the survey process to provide a better AP-to-coverage ratio.
This course prepares students to deploy wireless networks using Cisco controller and unified switching architectures policies and best practices, as well as ensure the proper implementation of mobility standards and configuration of wireless components. The course reinforces the instruction by providing students with hands-on labs to ensure students thoroughly understand how to configure and deploy the new Cisco 8.0, Prime Infrastructure release 2.2, and Mobility Services Engine release 8.0 features.
This course prepares students with knowledge of troubleshooting and optimizing Enterprise wireless infrastructures. Students will learn about the tools and methodologies needed to identify and resolve client connectivity, performance, and RF issues.
The course provides guidelines for implementing Wi-Fi security architectures through proper configuration of Cisco wireless components. Students will have access to hands-on labs to reinforce concepts that include deploying Cisco AireOS 8.0, Prime Infrastructure release 2.2, and Identity Services Engine release 1.3 features.
To earn this Cisco certification, you must pass the following exam(s):
This exam tests a candidate’s knowledge of identifying customer and application requirements, applying predictive wireless design principles and conducting site surveys needed to design and optimize Enterprise wireless networks.
This exam tests a candidate’s knowledge of implementing wireless networks based on the applicable Cisco controller and Unified switching architectures that support high availability, QoS, multicast, and mobility services.
This exam tests a candidate’s knowledge of troubleshooting and optimizing Enterprise wireless infrastructure and related services plus the tools and methodologies needed to identify and resolve client connectivity, performance, and RF issues.
This exam tests a candidate’s knowledge of implementing client device security, identity based authentication and services, along with securing and monitoring the Enterprise wireless infrastructure.
Cisco Professional-level certifications (CCDP, CCNP Cloud, CCNP Collaboration, CCNP Data Center, CCNP Routing and Switching, CCNP Security, CCNP Service Provider, and CCNP Wireless) are valid for three years.
To recertify, pass ONE of the following before the certification expiration date:
- Pass any current 642-XXX Professional-level or any 300-XXX Professional-level exam, or
- Pass any current CCIE Written Exam, or
- Pass the current CCDE Written Exam OR current CCDE Practical Exam, or
- Pass the Cisco Certified Architect (CCAr) interview AND the CCAr board review to extend lower certifications
When using a higher level of certification to extend other certifications, the expiration date of other certifications will extend to the expiration date of the higher certification (i.e.: If you have one year left on your CCNA certification and you earn a CCIE certification (which has a two-year certification life) then both your CCIE certification and your CCNA certification will expire two years from the date you achieved the CCIE certification).
